Identification Requirement
According to the RCMP's policy, 2 original Identifications must be presented at the time of doing the fingerprints and/or Name & Date of Birth Background Check.
If you receive any request letter/ email/ instructions from the organization that required your fingerprints/background check, please provide them along the IDs.
YOU MUST BRING YOUR PASSPORT TO THE APPOINTMENT.
The second identification that may be accepted includes:
Driver's License (issued by Canadian Province or Territory)
Foreign Driver's License
Canadian Citizenship Card
Canadian Permanent Resident Card
Certification of Indian Status
Student Identity Card from foreign Institute
Firearms Possession Certificate
Firearms Acquisition Certificate
Record of Landing
Canadian National Institute of the Blind Identification Card
Federal / Provincial / Municipal Identification Card
Military Family Identification Card
Work or Study Permit issued to a Foreign National
NOTE:
SIN Card, Health Card and Credit Card are NOT acceptable.
ONLY original IDs or certified copies (as secondary ID only) are accepted. One of the two IDs has to have applicant’s photo and signature on it.
It is recommended that applicants have a letter or file number from the requesting source, if applicable.
All digital fingerprinting requests for Canadian Citizenship must include a letter from Citizenship and Immigration Canada. This letter must include the address for the third-party results and should have a CIC file number, which will be included in your transaction. Please ensure this letter is available during the fingerprinting application session.
